more sande me thinks

So no Kate Bush, well no physical Bush just a primary school maths unit sculpture being constructed to a pretty horrific remix of running up that hill. Instead the closing ceremony organiser…dunno who he was he never directed any Oscar winning films…decided to put Emelie Sande on stage like 100 fucking times, love her dont get me wrong but i know i wasnt the only one going ‘Emelie again? Not Ms Dynamite, Pixie Lott (god Forbid), Adele (she was probably to expensive), Leona Lewis (hello shes international), Kate Nash (clutching at straws here) Jessie J?!? Oh no wait she was there singing how its not about the money dripping in a diamond flesh suit and riding around in a Bentley. Kudos to Annie Lennox on a Goth Pirate ship, The Spice Girls on Taxis, John Lennon & Freddie Mercury from the grave and very much so to George Michael i dont care what anyone says. Yeah the new single isnt his best and maybe should have been edited down into a verse, chorus, outro but over 23 million people in the UK alone heard it, thats some serious promotion. How anyone can have a go at him for trying to make a quick buck when the draconian Olympic Marketing restrictions (that banned the use of words such as ‘gold’ ‘summer’ and ‘games’) have prevented anyone but the official sponsors doing just that, is in my opinion kinda ridiculous. Leave the man alone, your only jealous cause he has kinky sex and still smokes pot…basically living the teenage dream, FREEDOM!

Tour Diary Day 10 – Hamburg

HamburgNot in a good mood today, the ankle is pissing me off and the codeine has worn off severely, have made the decision to drink instead of drug the pain away thanks to yesterdays shenanigans! Slept in the cot for most of journey from Cologne, im thinking until im better its the only comfortable place to be in the van with my leg up!

Quite a mellow evening apart from my twitter apology from Rory for calling me a bitch and the gig in which we changed up the set a little and got another killer reaction from the crowd. Its mad fun playing for Shikari fans their well up for new music the merch is selling and everybody’s happy at the end of the night! I would have liked to go out and explore what this city had to offer but walking isnt the easiest right now and i have to be able to jump around for half an hour every evening onstage which means foot up whenever im off..HamburgCrowd @ Musichalle

Great Expectations

I remember once being told by a lover that i expect to much from people, i mix up my view of them with who they actually are. I remember thinking how ludicrous this statement was, how could i not expect the best from the people in my life and just be happy with them the way they are… Now im thinking he was right, dam it, dam me and dam my great expectations!

Hanging with boys

Most of my life has been spent hanging out with boys, this is probably due to the fact I’ve been involved in underground music one way or another since I was 14, hanging out in studios and pirate radio stations girls were always the minority… (more…)
