Im off in a motorcar from Manchester to Sardinia via Belgium in search of the sun. I may not be back for a while so let me wish you all a perfect end to the summer where ever you may be
Congrats to the 6 DJ finalists heading over to Sun and Bass this year. Looking forward to lounging with the lucky loosers drowning their sorrows to all the sets in the glamourous surroundings of Bal Harbour, roll on the Sardinian spirit measures
Coming up on the radar is Pohoda festival which will be a first time for me, very honored to be playing there alongside DJ Die right after Public Enemy! Also looking forward to catching up with the Drumatique crew, roll on the 7th of July
Yeah so happy with how this lil session from over a year ago has turned out, big thank you to the Atomique crew for getting me to do this, long time no see y’all. EP sounds fresh and ready for the sunny season glad to be a part of it Cover styles by the one and only Gina Drewes ‘Disco Bird of Paradise‘ hot in my short set hoody, miss you sis danke xx If you’ve not got summer on your mind you soon will but be prepared, released exclusively on Beatport May 14th your ‘Never Coming Home’…
Pulled out Jamiroquais Return Of The Space Cowboy from the CD rack this week and it hasn’t left my stereo since, such perfect music for the glorious weather and it still sounds more than relevant 17 years after its release. Definately my favourite album from Jay Kay and the lads i’d forgotten just how amazing some of the songs are; Half The Man, Mr Moon & Morning Glory!! Do not play these when your alone with me if you dont want me to jump your bones! Far to early (in the UK) for any rumpy pumpy so hows about this little beauty instead, enjoy
Im back in the UK after a truely inspiring tour around South America which i think just might be my favorite continent. Obviously it was hot over there, t-shirts vest and shorts my main day wear for the past 10 days….hot as well were the men, oh if only i’d dipped my biscuit in the wonder of it all. How fitting then that this song came on my ipod en route home and stayed there on loop whilst i snoozed sandwiched between Russian holiday makers on an Air France flight back to winter….
Im so pissed at the weather these past few months mostly cause these pretty little things have stayed in the box venturing out only once this whole summer. Rain rain go away so i can wear my Basquiat Reeboks another day!
Wu Tang are just one of my teenage fave’s gracing the UK shores this summer (checked Snoop & Prince last week, Salt n Pepa get here in Aug!) caught a bit of the interview Raekwon done for 6music to promote the UK shows, where he says it exactly how it is with regards to artistic content of the modern day pop artist/rapper.
I cant bloody wait to see the Wu…seriously too many albums with too many tunes what the hell are they gonna fit into their live show?? Oh sooo exciting Makes you wonder though in terms of the artistic development of the modern day stars he’s talking about are Tinchy, Tinie, Dappy, Sneezy (lmao) and whoever else you lot listen to gonna be able to get back on stage in 13 years time for a WORLD TOUR? With the unoriginal A&R’ing of the UK major labels just what longevity are they creating for their artists? I’ll stop right there.
I get to wear my white Urban Nerds jumper, which doesnt really work in winter!
Yes yes yes, its warm in Manchester and even though my wax ran out half way through my right leg, i dont care, im ready to go enjoy the heat!!! Any 22 years olds of the pretty male type fancy pooling pocket money for a car to run away in this arvo…what??! I mean to innocently recreate the video! (perverts!!)
Last Sunday i woke up in the Cosmopolitain Hotel in Brighton after a lovely end of tour party with The Qemists. Before i left for the north i took an hour to sit an reflect on a crazy summer whilst watching the waves. (more…)
Last time i was in Leicester i was loved up…ha ha, i know hilarious isnt it? This time i’ll be rocking out with The Qemists at the Summer Sundae Weekender. (more…)
These pleasant looking chaps were on before us at Summer Sonic in Tokyo & Osaka and rocked the fook out in tru metal form….i mean just check the press pick, beards, dreads and tats. The Qemists (me included) looked like Aloha From Hell in comparison! Blondie aka Ivan the lead singer is a sweetheart, even though his facial tattoo will have you believe he’s a murderer…he also dropped the scariest chat up line i’ve ever heard… (more…)
