Lately i cant help but take photos with the black and white function on my camera, even in the most modern of settings i love the way it turns any scene into a 40′s snap shot, timeless and quite genius. (my snaps are in the Flickr photos top left in sidebar)Watching The Dreamers last night i made the link between the recent hue of my snaps and my Brassai obsession which began about this time last year. Wishing i lived when he did in Paris armed with a fierce set of post war suspenders and a camera. In that booth, that embrace, slipping into the misty shadows at the end of the street, red wine, smoke, velvet, metal, white tiles and cobble stones…
A sound byte would express quite clearly why im making this post but i cant be arsed to record one, I just woke up! Its easily expressed like this…DANGER high speed dreams
…and my bandanna to tie round my ponytail 96 style! Twitter convo today with Harry Love has informed me Lords of The Underground are playing in Paris this evening, F**K DAM AWWWW! I wanna go so bad, especially after rehashing my Yo! MTV Raps days, this tune was a banger! Not to mention the ridiculously gully beat down shots from Mr. Funke and DoItAll Dupré, god the 90′s were so fun…bon chance dans Paris fellas, air kisses and hiphop fists to ya
On the way back from Venezuela i watched a documentary ‘ The September Issue ‘ about American Vogue 2007 and fell in love 3 times. Once with Ana Wintour, another with Grace Coddington and finally with the Parisian photography of Brassai. (more…)
This year touring with the Qemists has took me all over the place, we’ve played and partied quite hard, in so many cities & clubs it was inevitable that some of my possesions were gonna go walkabouts. This is just a small dedication to some of my favourite pieces no longer with us, well no longer with me some lucky f**kers found them…hope their being nice to my babies! (more…)
We’ve finally made it to a hotel, thank the lord! What a day indeed, we’ve been all over the show in France on what was suppose to be a day off at a heavy metal festival in Lille. However fate didnt have it that way instead we are in Belguim a day early, shacked up at an Etap hotel near an airport after ooo maybe 5 hours or more driving in the van with a dvd player THAT DOESN’T WORK! (Nice one Tiger Tours).
So last night our first gig with the Shikari boys (seem like lovely chaps) in Paris the city of love…ehem i’ve had my heart broken here and broken someone elses, tis funny how i still refer to it as such! It was one of my favourite cities for quite a long time but our 40 hours here have changed that, sorry Paris.
