We made it back from Sardinia and the wild roads of Europe, i swear thought i was dead 2 times in France thanks to Dads sporadically bad driving. Apart from that Laundry day and Sun & Bass were so much fun, The G family officially love Sardinia which as always was a joy, big shouts to all crew that made it so. Henry loved the beaches of San Teadoro, he even had his first swim 100m off shore (what a brave little puppy!) and got the first stamp in his passport! Since our return my Dad has bought his first espresso pot and is planning on annoyingly answering the telephone in Italian for the rest of his life ‘Bon Journo’. It was funny to spending time with him on the road, even if his stick shift driving is a bit rusty we had a lot of fun taking wrong turns, passing through borders stoned, buying alcohol at motorway service stations, telling tour stories and singing along to the epic collection of music i loaded onto a USB stick for the snazzy system in the hire car. 8gbs of musical entertainment easily saw us through the 28 hours of road time clocked up over 3000km of road in 7 countries, wanted to give you a taster but how do i boil that down to 20 minutes?
Start her up to find out
You’d think that with only 20 songs to pick and 20mins of mixing to be done i could knock these 20/20 selections together weekly, however you’d be wrong. My time keeping for personal projects as of late is abysmal and so it seems for now 20/20 is a monthly thing, this month im feeling all girly and so my mix will be just that…of the female persuasion.
Whilst everyone else its appears is in Croatia right now im consoling myself with this mix from the very talented Mr Ruckspin, got my beach towel out in the back yard and a cocktail or two on hand. Eyes closed they’ll be no difference #yeahright! Shouts to all festival massive enjoying the sun and sounds right now, salute to the summer or at least a sporadic sunny manchester day
So i like to make mixes, not club mixes i dont consider myself a club DJ, just selections of good tunes old/new, accoustic/electronic etc wrapped around themes. If you ever checked out Frontroom Radio you’ll see what i mean however i slowly stopped making that mostly because the sound of my own voice irked me somewhat but without a little explanation the mixes seemed quite jumbled. Anyways so i still wanna make mixes with a varied selection of tunes but i dont wanna bore anyone either (im in a paranoid phase artistically right now) so i came up with the 20/20 idea. 20 songs in 20 minutes that will hopefully have you digging out some old records or hunting for something new. I want to see if DJing like Tim Westwood with songs that are better than just there chorus can actually work…so here goes the first session, a reclamation of songs that speak love.
Wow 2012 already!?! Hope so far you’ve worked it, owned it cause its yours!
Yeah i know im totally late but trust me i’ve been thinking of you all, thats why i made this just for you…and your pet zombie x

Two phrases i love inspired this weeks Frontroom Radio. FR05 Smokin & Drinkin is up now at mixcloud and ready for your listening pleasure! Matters of the heart plus corporate enterprise equals sh*t tv so i spent most of the evening finally getting my SCS3 system to work (for all of half an hour) and had a little mix inspired by this swoon fest of a day, I then spent what was left of the evening trying to upload to Soundcloud (whilst writing, chat rouletting and finding out what a looser some people can be, lol) Blogging while others are bonking…..dont say a word!
If i was in the UK this Halloween weekend i know i’d be heading out with my sister to Urban Nerds @ The Macbeth in Shoreditch. (more…)
