my full frontal….
A huge thanks to Chimp Magazine for two very fun experiences this month, my first front cover on their bestselling Manchester whats on guide and my first time reaching for a magazine off the top shelf. Yes thats right my face right next to someones mum holding her very ample breasts, like two raw turkeys savagely against her chest. I dont know why Etchells figured this was top shelf material but either way im thankful for the experience and for such a lovely interview, Seamus thank you very much, another reason im back blogging for the time being
The magazine is out now in well stocked newsagents in the manny area, if its not at the counter look on the top shelf ;P
The Lazy Blogger
Yeah thats me, its been way too long and im doubting theres even one person left reading this because of my utter slackness but im not gonna lie its been a hard, mad year and its made me very lazy in terms of blogging. So much to catch up on…some might say even too much so im not gonna back track too much, more try to push things forward
Right now im in my kitchen still suffering from jet lag after an awesome week in LA. Big shouts to the Winter Fresh Crew for getting me over there and to all the faces that took me places, i particularly enjoyed driving on the wrong side of the road for the first time…not as scary as i thought it would be thanks to the perfect soundtrack provided by Backspin radio, literally every song you want to hear about Cali/LA when your drivin through it
Speaking of scary no doubt alot of you will have witnessed Strategy’s Voodoo priest get up for the terror dome anthem from DubPhisix, Skeptical & himself ‘Marka‘. Absolute salute to the Manc contingency on this one, the video which is already over 100,000 views on the tube is like an excerpt from a movie i wouldnt watch alone. Nice to see alot of support for this track which no doubt will be smacking a speaker system near you over the festive period!
In closing i obviously have to direct anyone in the Manchester area towards The Ritz tomorrow night (Monday) for Hit n Run vs Riot Jazz. Ill be jumping on for a few tunes with the RJ Brass Band ad mist a heavy line up as always ft Silkie, Drumagik and more
See you there or back on here now im not being so lazy
beware, sleeping giants!

chilli grill vs nandos – its beef
Manchester residents might be all to familiar with Fallowfields Chilli Grill, not so familiar however with the Chilli Grillionaire. Get acquainted amidst the beef that is the fallowfield chicken wars, Chilli if you please…

ode to the spider
Somewhere in my frontroom is a monster, its present location is currently unknown. This unsettles me somewhat, having met if face to face only once i cannot be to sure of its exact type or species but one thing is for sure, its big and i dont like it. Sitting here on the couch half asleep i swear its somewhere watching me with its beady little eyes *skin crawling*. Fight the fear i must, be at one with the beast and so a dedication, to take this creepy crawly feeling away, ode to the eight legged invader.

RIOT JAZZ Vs. Hit & Run from Dr. Treehorn on Vimeo.
Just seen the video from the last time the Riot Jazz boys and i played together in Manchester….mind out of the gutter people im talking music! Made by the fabulous Dr Treehorn and starring the raving masses that always make Riot Jazz such a special night. Shouts as always to Axel & Tom, True Tiger, Chunky, Strategy, Rich Reason (playing the trumpet very well at the end) and of course Misell my bell. Do ya self a favor if your new in town, get to know Riot Jazz, an ill see ya down the front when im back!
jesus & harry potter at mosside carnival

A week back today i was at Alexandra Park in Manchester enjoying the Mosside Carnival, the first time i’d been there in over 12 years! Shocked as i was to see Jesus and Harry Potter there i was even more surprised by the beautiful weather and rather pleasent crowd of all ages, creeds and cultures peacefully enjoying the some what community lead entertainment and tasty but pricey food. Snap happy as always here some pics from a very fun sunday… (more…)
Raekwon on pop
Wu Tang are just one of my teenage fave’s gracing the UK shores this summer (checked Snoop & Prince last week, Salt n Pepa get here in Aug!) caught a bit of the interview Raekwon done for 6music to promote the UK shows, where he says it exactly how it is with regards to artistic content of the modern day pop artist/rapper.
I cant bloody wait to see the Wu…seriously too many albums with too many tunes what the hell are they gonna fit into their live show?? Oh sooo exciting
Makes you wonder though in terms of the artistic development of the modern day stars he’s talking about are Tinchy, Tinie, Dappy, Sneezy (lmao) and whoever else you lot listen to gonna be able to get back on stage in 13 years time for a WORLD TOUR? With the unoriginal A&R’ing of the UK major labels just what longevity are they creating for their artists? I’ll stop right there.
snoop in manc

Seriously he was and thats got nothing to do with the fact i wasnt at Glasto…more do to with the fact he didnt bring TT onstage, actually did more of his own tunes rather than other peoples and was wearing a Man United football shirt…..there was a few moments at Thursday Rockcorps concert where me and Sam were not feeling it at all (Akon track, random Euro pop freestyle) but regardless Snoop Dizzle was the shizzle for rizzle the complete bomb bizzle my nizzle. Also im giving myself props for wearing my original Snoop T from the Doggystyle era and standing out like a sore thumb, beeyatch you better recognize im an OG lmao! Also caught Vampire Weekend who were bloody brilliant very happy clappy low down snare playing slappy, drummer and bass player just a joy to watch making it a dope event all round. Big up the Orange RockCorps crew for all your hard work you soooooo deserved Thursdays knees up, and big shouts to theGiftd & LT for the tickets case you know i never painted no wall!
Gonna add the few videos i took after the jump but gimmie til end of week innit blud! (more…)
bunches kicks ass
