I want, i want, i want – LFW
Now as much as i love fashion nowadays im more a window shopper than an avid buyer…yes it hurts but one has to get down to get on up and who knows maybe by the time these beauties from London Fashion Week are out (2010) i will have won the lottery, written a worldwide number one or be the recipient of some hefty monetary gift from an amorous oil Barron and be able to buy them all…even the male models

The auto-tune lives on….
Kano one of the UK’s best mc’s in my books is set to release a new album next year featuring some pretty interesting production credits from Hot-Chip, Radio Clit and Boyz Noize…its quite an exciting project for this young fella from London, his fourth album! However after watching this video (on Miss Fiddys Blog) i think ill save my personal giddyness for next the single… (more…)
Speech Debelle
What a perfect song and an even more perfect artist to find on such a perfect day. Fresh out of London town Speech Debelle is turning the sunset in my back garden into a rustic faraway scene. Honest lyrics i can understand, flows like water…natural and confident, enjoy as i am right now the song for the day Searching, avaliable on Itunes.
Listening – Fannypack
Im in Reading, working with Engine-Earz on a vocal version of Kali Yuga, woop woop! Got up bright and early this morning to catch the train from Manchester which was lovely. I had a table, charged my phone, caught up on emails, twittered when i had signal and alighted the train at my destination cool, calm and collected…. That was until i walked past a rather portly young man who took it upon him self to claim very loudly that i had a huge camel toe! (the rest of this story was twittered and to painful to repeat!)
Cue song for the day and a trip to H&M to buy a long vest… LMAO its Cameltoe from the glorious but unfortunately no more Fannypack!
The Curious Case of Mr West
No its not the latest home wreckage of Ms Miller but this rather curious picture of Kanye West backstage..as the Vice already said ‘WTF are you doing to that dude?’ In his defence, it is fashion week, maybe he was smelling the dudes new class A scratch and sniff zipper…. *sniggers*
I love him really… Jenna Ration G
Goodbye Swerve @ The End :(

In London one of my favourite nights for some dam good drum n bass, friendly faces and some funny stories has to be Swerve. I haven’t been in yonks and tonight im missing the final knees up for this legend of a club night at The End. Soooo wanted to be there by the far end of the bar with the usual suspects, getting my change on little trays and supping champagne, doing shots with friends reminiscing about all the fun we had in the backroom under red lights, whilst bouncing to some serious soulful drum and bass sounds. Jenna G x Top Nine Bboys

Yesterday i was hanging with the Bboy World Champions ‘Top Nine‘ all the way from Russia courtesy of BBC Blast ‘Behind the Scenes’. They were in London to perform their brand new show Accents, at Riverside Studios this evening. Wow, this show is amazing, its tells the history of music through dance, break dancing and b-boying to be precise. Chatting with the lads before and after their performance it was obvious how much passion they have for what they do, regardless of not being able to speak english very well the interviews were really engaging and taught me a hell of a lot interms of technique…i can lead anyone down the verbal path to create specific content for a show, however trying to do this without english as a common language was a challenge…Plus sides…the accent was sex in audio, seriously i think i need to marry a Russian
I digress the crew are mad talented, having choreographed, scored and managed the whole fabulous performance themselves, taking influences from areas very much outside of the Bboying genre. My only criticism was that it was way too short, i could have watched them dance all night. Shouts to the Behind the Scenes crew, make-up master Mayu and of course the whole Top Nine crew….Fly Boy Robin (should have been fine boy!), Kosto (number one b-boy), Wolt (what a body), Komar (Skinnymans Russian double), Flying Buddah (12 packed shorty), Simpson (natural blonde), Rezky (in spirit) and Tony Rock (the mouth). Thanks for a dope day and the lil peace of Russia you brought with ya…didn’t they hear what happened to Ghostface LOL!!! Looking forward to getting my drink on amongst other thing with em next time im in St Petersburg! Watch out for the Behind the Scenes with Top Nine on BBC Blast website in the new year!
Eager Shoreditch beaver…

OMG I am officially the first in the queue for today exclusive release…. Feel a bit sad as I arrived hour and half before shop opens and theres no one else here….Except shop worker Irene. Shame first time queuing up for sneakers so i didn’t want to miss out, shame will melt away once I’ve got those beauties in my hand
Frighteningly good shows

Driving down to London last night i listened to 2 of the best shows for a Halloween Eve both courtesy of Radio 2. First up was Mark Lemars ‘Shake, Rattle n Roll’ i’ve listened to this before and he plays some wicked Reggae, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Alternative Sixties tunes, has seasons for the different genres!! Last night was a spooky theme and all the songs contained references to Zombies, black cats, Witches etc. was some really dope stuff and have been getting a little collection together off Limewire thanks to the tracklisting…fav song title ‘Spooksville’, my fav tunes from the show ‘The Devil hates you’ by Rebecca Lee and ‘The Legend of Sleepy hollow’ by The Monotones, was be bopping and do wap all the way down the M1. Help me though please as i cannot find online to buy, would love to own copies of either of these lil beauties, holler if you can lend a hand, or a link!
Next up was the unmistakable tones of Bob Dylan, WOW this show was fucking heavy with some fun facts about all the tracks he played. Theme Time Radio Hour is so my kind of radio, i love back stories to tracks learning about the cause and effect is essential and Bob breaks it down like ony he could. Was of course in the vain of ghouls and ghosts, Lee Scratch Perry 3 tunes in ‘I put a Spell on you!!’ signed sealed and delivered this show as a classic. I swear if you have quiet night in on the way, i suggest drawing the curtains, dimming the lights and listening back at your leisure…..
Lily reckons ‘Everybody’s At It’
Speak for yourself young lady. The princess of UK pop, Lily Allen and the voice of a Jennaration is back with a new single from her second album. Tracks have already been up on her myspace but today we got the full first finished release. An interesting ditty ode to the fact that every body is apparently on it..i think she was or had been around the time of the vocal session…Nothing surprising really seeing as that is the way to sell records these days, plus she writes autobiographically so what else can be expected. For me its not as catchy as her old hits, but the press are calling it an album about integrity so its sure to go straight to the top of the charts for chrimbo, expect to hear it at all your offices do’s…cringing at thought of sly nose tap dance moves around the handbags! Please drop kick me if you see me dancing to this at any festive parties…in fact please drop kick me if you see me going to any parties that would play this.
Im not hating but…
Leona Lewis’s performance on the Olympic closing ceremony was pretty shabby in my humble opinion. Im not denying shes stunning and has the most amazing voice of an angel. Im not saying that she shouldn’t have been singing with the ever amazing Jimmy Paige to represent how Great Britain is…im just thinking out loud that it wouldnt have made any difference if she hadn’t of been there at all. The PA mix on BBC was shockingly quiet and her stage presence equalled ZERO which made the barely audible million dollar performance quite boring to watch. Even emerging from the Transformer London bus atop the 40ft podium couldn’t save her, lucky she had a 50 foot long shiny gown or she would have been barely noticeable! Was it just me that wanted her to head bang when Jimmy did his solo, drop to her knees and worship the guitar before her? Throw that gorgeous mane around with wild child abandonment, maybe a little leg kick and fake air bass? Curl back that pristine pout and squeal with the desire a ‘Whole lotta love’ deserves?!? Needless to say they’ll be a fantastic mix of this somewhere for you to download soon, but i seen it live baby and it wasn’t as good as it could have been.
