the last time live…

Im all historical this afternoon and so revelling in letting you know that on this day in 1969 the Beatles played their infamous rooftop gig in Saville Row London. It was the last time they played live, which some people were probably quite happy about considering their dominance through the worldwide charts during the 60′s. However i think it would have been awesome to be walking along the swinging streets of 60′s London and stumble into this impromptu din over flowing from the roof top of the Apple building, totally groovy baby. I wonder what todays equivalent would be….maybe Jay Z doing a Madison Square Garden gig and then retiring from the stage as Hova….oh wait he already did that and then performed live at Glastonbury….. gutless grand gestures do my head in!

snooch to tha nooch!

Jay & Silent Bob aka Jason Mewes & Kevin Smith are getting old like most of us. However unlike most of us these two are talking about it every week via their podcast on the Smodcast network and it is a work of live genius! Created as an intervention for Jasons real life drug addictions this weekly dose of personal back stories, slanted social commentary and belly laughs has been keeping me well entertained since its launch in summer. Perfect company for cooking in the kitchen and long journeys which is what the holiday season is full of right? So now is the best time to download all the episodes via Itunes or whatever, load up your portable player and catch up, be prepared to look like a crazy person laughing out loud on public transport snooches!!

Raekwon on pop

Wu Tang are just one of my teenage fave’s  gracing the UK shores this summer (checked Snoop & Prince last week,  Salt n Pepa get here in Aug!) caught a bit of the interview Raekwon done for 6music to promote the UK shows, where he says it exactly how it is with regards to artistic content of the modern day pop artist/rapper.

I cant bloody wait to see the Wu…seriously too many albums with too many tunes what the hell are they gonna fit into their live show?? Oh sooo exciting :) Makes you wonder though in terms of the artistic development of the modern day stars he’s talking about are Tinchy, Tinie, Dappy, Sneezy (lmao)  and whoever else you lot listen to gonna be able to get back on stage in 13 years time for a WORLD TOUR? With the unoriginal A&R’ing of the UK major labels just what longevity are they creating for their artists? I’ll stop right there.

testing, testing @ parklife

The (locally controversial) Manchester festival was much fun this weekend, i was residing for most of Saturday behind the Ape tent soaking up the sun, hanging with Chunky n crew and trying out Ustreams Iphone app that allows you to broadcast live on the interweb to your Ustream Channel from your IPhone . Now it kind of worked and it kind of didn’t for a number of reasons, one major flaw 02‘s Iphone network being quite shabby on the day (quelle surpirse!) another being my newbie set up of the app and my channel on the site itself.  Also the ever flowing stream of fizzy booze didnt help but i did get few things on video, however alot of stuff i recorded using the ustream app and saved went missing….not a good look and i should of just recorded via IPhone cam…lesson learned anyways here for your viewing pleasure is a little sample of the salvaged footage from a day in the life at the park!

reloading the reload

Back in April i had an amazing night down on the South bank in London at Raj Reload performing with The Engine-Earz Experiment. I wanna go so bad, especially after rehashing my Yo! MTV Raps days, this tune was a banger! Not to mention the ridiculously gully beat down shots from Mr. Funke and DoItAll Dupré, god the 90′s were so fun…bon chance dans Paris fellas, air kisses and hiphop fists to ya :P

sing it like kd lang – konstanz raven(sburg)

Raven puzzle

Ill never be a comedian, however i make my self laugh which is the most important thing ;) Finally got my pictures on me mac from 2 weekends ago in Ravensburg, players ville south Germany…and i say that cause its famous for board games, hence a random blue monopoly house on the hill outside of town!

Raven the house on the hill

Was a really nice gig at Douala, i even got a stripper stage minus pole and the locals seemed to enjoy the performance, two even got me to sign their arms! I danced the rest of the night away in the back room with a Lemmy lookalike who’s worked at the club for 14 years, his English was as good as my German (next to none) but we giggled so much about nothing in particular til Lars started dropping the dubstep and I retired to the dj booth for some private skanking, not long after that Panda was looking a little fragile, so i had to take him back to the hotel, ready for the trip over Lake Konstanz back to Zurich in the following hours. The gig, the trip, the people were lovely, see for ya self ….
