Finally its ready to unleash on the world, mine and Dies new tune 1000 soul songs or as its affectionately known up in Gutterfunk HQ 1000 mixdowns Big shout to Mistajam for playin it twice Monday night and huge respect to all the people giving such lovely feedback. Due for release in summer we dedicate this one to the loves that inspired it xx
Out Now is the 80′s homage from Krystal Klear and myself Addiction on Rinse, i popped into the label HQ in East London last week to record a live version for their Rinse Sessions. Helping me out with the acoustic backing was EngineEarz/Arusha Accord guitarist Tom Hollings and JLS newest band member Jack Guppy who did an excellent job had really fun day thanks to them, Julie and the drive time crew. See how it all went down above
You’d think that with only 20 songs to pick and 20mins of mixing to be done i could knock these 20/20 selections together weekly, however you’d be wrong. My time keeping for personal projects as of late is abysmal and so it seems for now 20/20 is a monthly thing, this month im feeling all girly and so my mix will be just that…of the female persuasion.
Happy happy joy joy,the first half of the line up for sun and bass 2012 is online! In answer to your questions over the past few months will i be there this year…well you’ll just have to click on the pic to find out (more…)
Coming up on the radar is Pohoda festival which will be a first time for me, very honored to be playing there alongside DJ Die right after Public Enemy! Also looking forward to catching up with the Drumatique crew, roll on the 7th of July
So i like to make mixes, not club mixes i dont consider myself a club DJ, just selections of good tunes old/new, accoustic/electronic etc wrapped around themes. If you ever checked out Frontroom Radio you’ll see what i mean however i slowly stopped making that mostly because the sound of my own voice irked me somewhat but without a little explanation the mixes seemed quite jumbled. Anyways so i still wanna make mixes with a varied selection of tunes but i dont wanna bore anyone either (im in a paranoid phase artistically right now) so i came up with the 20/20 idea. 20 songs in 20 minutes that will hopefully have you digging out some old records or hunting for something new. I want to see if DJing like Tim Westwood with songs that are better than just there chorus can actually work…so here goes the first session, a reclamation of songs that speak love.
Sorry for being late on this post but being the humble singer & songwriter i wasnt informed of this, in the know now though so spreading the message far and wide! Cant wait to hear what you all come up with, get involved over at Juno and good luck

A huge thanks to Chimp Magazine for two very fun experiences this month, my first front cover on their bestselling Manchester whats on guide and my first time reaching for a magazine off the top shelf. Yes thats right my face right next to someones mum holding her very ample breasts, like two raw turkeys savagely against her chest. I dont know why Etchells figured this was top shelf material but either way im thankful for the experience and for such a lovely interview, Seamus thank you very much, another reason im back blogging for the time being The magazine is out now in well stocked newsagents in the manny area, if its not at the counter look on the top shelf ;P
Finally its here, i say finally because it took more than once to get this right. Big thanks to Andy Hylton and the crew for this little slice of a Neon night
Yeah thats me, its been way too long and im doubting theres even one person left reading this because of my utter slackness but im not gonna lie its been a hard, mad year and its made me very lazy in terms of blogging. So much to catch up on…some might say even too much so im not gonna back track too much, more try to push things forward
Right now im in my kitchen still suffering from jet lag after an awesome week in LA. Big shouts to the Winter Fresh Crew for getting me over there and to all the faces that took me places, i particularly enjoyed driving on the wrong side of the road for the first time…not as scary as i thought it would be thanks to the perfect soundtrack provided by Backspin radio, literally every song you want to hear about Cali/LA when your drivin through it
Speaking of scary no doubt alot of you will have witnessed Strategy’s Voodoo priest get up for the terror dome anthem from DubPhisix, Skeptical & himself ‘Marka‘. Absolute salute to the Manc contingency on this one, the video which is already over 100,000 views on the tube is like an excerpt from a movie i wouldnt watch alone. Nice to see alot of support for this track which no doubt will be smacking a speaker system near you over the festive period!
In closing i obviously have to direct anyone in the Manchester area towards The Ritz tomorrow night (Monday) for Hit n Run vs Riot Jazz. Ill be jumping on for a few tunes with the RJ Brass Band ad mist a heavy line up as always ft Silkie, Drumagik and more See you there or back on here now im not being so lazy
