snooch to tha nooch!

Jay & Silent Bob aka Jason Mewes & Kevin Smith are getting old like most of us. However unlike most of us these two are talking about it every week via their podcast on the Smodcast network and it is a work of live genius! Created as an intervention for Jasons real life drug addictions this weekly dose of personal back stories, slanted social commentary and belly laughs has been keeping me well entertained since its launch in summer. Perfect company for cooking in the kitchen and long journeys which is what the holiday season is full of right? So now is the best time to download all the episodes via Itunes or whatever, load up your portable player and catch up, be prepared to look like a crazy person laughing out loud on public transport snooches!!

morning sunrise…

A sound byte would express quite clearly why im making this post but i cant be arsed to record one, I just woke up! Its easily expressed like this…DANGER high speed dreams ;)

so many films so little time

Vampires suck

Over the past 2 weeks i have watched a considerable amount of films, travelling an all you kinda clock up the movie hours. To be honest i watch a lot of films in general when i cant sleep wont sleep much like last night or this morning or whenever it was i woke up and couldnt get back to sleep and found myself watching Vampires Suck, it being the only thing left on my hard drive i hadnt seen. For those that dont know its a parody of the Twilight films, maybe came out this year, i dont know, nor do i recall why its on my hard drive but any ways… (more…)

p.w.m. – sukh knight keeps the vibe alive

There is in my life and for a few members of True Tiger a rather special day in the week, no long ting i cant be arsed to go into the story but lets just say Panda Wank Monday is one alternatively refreshing way to start a 7 day cycle, read into that how you will as the truth is no where near as perverse as your tiny brains are thinking. Its been a while since me or the lads referenced said special day but Sukh brought it all flooding back this weekend just in time for P.W.M with this little beauty of an advert, ha ha too fitting for this auspicious occasion, double panda points ;) Watch the full set of adverts here

If you haven’t got your ticket yet and are still in need of a festival fix, it aint to late to get your sh*t together and go, see you on the beach bee-yatches!

I would often do the house work in my under wear,  colour matched headscarf & heels. This must be the reason my house is a mess since Nick moved in…. ;P

the bedroom cinema

The bedroom cinema

Laid low like broccoli on Sunday after a pretty hectic Saturday in Manchester at Parklife. In one of those moods where the outside world was a hassle so after Sunday lunch at Tillys i returned to my boudoir and turned my bed into a cinema! Spent 8 glorious hours watching films old and new from a horizontal angle…total bliss and very entertaining heres what i watched and what i thought.

topical high brow comedy

Admiration to the Engine-Earz for his seeming selflessness!

so you’re sicilian?

Has to be the best scene from True Romance, Walken & Hopper killing it!

this is so weird to look at

Dam without a protein shake every day 50 is a different bloke! Dont worry though (were you really) all is well in the world of Curtis Jackson, he’s just getting all method on us for his next film ‘Things fall apart ‘ where he plays as a footballer player diagnosed with cancer. 100% points for effort visually i just hope his performance has received as much preparation!

red, gold & green

Ok i think i choose a favourite from The Wiz it has to be this jazz fused, colour spectacular absolute genius of a song section with an awesome visual sequence, The Emerald City..dam there being no good videos of this up on Youtube…your gonna have to go watch the film for this songs full audio/visual impact!

‘terror illustrates my era’

My 90′s hip-hop vibes from last week in back in full effect yo! Been routing through my tape selection and found Murder Was the Case. FALL BACK ANY RAPPERS OF TODAY YOU’D STILL GET MURKED! Remember when the film came out sneaking the film into my friend Sarahs house, and watching it in her parents room whilst they partied downstairs, lol. This and ‘Come up to my Room’ ft my fav Jodeci member Devante are my top two from the album….sidetracking now im going gooey googling pictures of Devante, schwing!

Any way im feeling ridiculously hype listening to this Ice Cube /Dr Dre classic right now, whilst nervously laughing at the top comment on youtube…

I killed a man listening to this song…..

Yikes! ‘I dont wanna die, i dont wanna, i dont wannnnaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa die-i–i-i’

f**k me, thats amazing!

Noisia = Extremely talented producers. Alexander Lehmann = Noisia fan & ridiculously talented film-maker.
Put them together and what have you got? This amazing short film ‘Exodus’ for the 2007 release from the dutch trio ft (‘the mc’) KRS 1. Breathe easy now….Im still a bit flabbergasted by it all, its so insanely good ;)

id like to foster ben

Its the Oscars countdown!!! MY FAVOURITE AWARDS CEREMONY ever, oh the glitz, the glam, the red carpet to end all red carpets, the fashion disasters, the ridiculous speeches (which this year the producer has threatened to cut extremely, and broadcast backstage via the web, ugh party pooper!). Standard procedure next sunday night will be firing up the Ichat with @thegiftd in NYC, discussing the trans-atlantic syncing issues with the E! channel, making sure im locked onto a working TV stream for the main show (the BBC no longer broadcasting the awards is a travesty and frankly not what i pay my license fee for), loading up the Oscar twitter feed (via E! or Oscar.com) and sitting back fingers poised to bitch my way through the ceremony, PERFECT! Preparation is simple watch all movies up for awards, including the shorts/animations and docs….routing for Rabbit A La Berlin for the latter this year obviously.  I began familiarizing myself last night and watched Nine ( Original Song, Art Direction, Costume, Supporting Actress) & The Messenger which sees Woody Harrelson nominated for Best supporting Actor, no nomination though for my long time obsession and much deserved Ben Foster… (more…)

Tour Diary – Day 7, Bochum

Leon in Second SonIts a beautiful day here in Bochum, we’ve all just arrived at the club  Zeche after a lovely morning buying crap in the small city centre of Bochum, big up to the first Starbucks of the tour, bliss!

Im sat back stage whilst Enter are sound-checking my favourite song Juggernaut, i keep waking up singing this bitch seriously the choon is the shizzle! Has also been first day with the Shikari crew after our riot bonding sesh in Brussels, has been some jokes this afternoon i tell thee.Anyways here goes tour diary day 7, which by the way was another day off here in the bountiful Bochum!

After an amazing day n night in Brussels (where im sure the ankle first began to hurt) we headed on over the border to Bochum, which we all thought was in Poland but is actually in Germany, go figure genius’s! On route we watched Chopper as we finally had the dvd player working, all it took was a little slap and a poke from Timmy two dinners, he the man!

So Bochum….is interesting, our first experience of a Formula One hotel aka swingers town! This hotel was my worst nightmare for real, bunk beds, communal toilets (VD’S) and showers (verruca’s), with red and green lights over head…like that was suppose to be cute, in my first 30 mins in the hotel i seen 4 men roaming the corridor in their undies, very tight white undies and they weren’t even fit!! Ode to Cultronica 2008

Cultronica Festival 2009 from Jenna G on Vimeo.

How long does it take me to make a video nowadays? Cultronica happened way back in December 08, the month where my feet never touched the ground. It was a 2 day festival in a quiet little town called Braganca featuring artists from all over Portugal. I had a mad fun that weekend, even if i was the only female act, it was freezing cold and i didn’t speak any Portuguese, ha ha the 1 euro shots and amazing talent made up for it all! Big massive respect to Luis for the invite, DJ Oder for the dubplates and all the rest of the fellas that looked after me so well, hope you enjoy what i did in this little film :)
