he finally stopped asking me

Jeff Leach stopped asking me out for dinner about a year ago, we first met in 2007, im so glad he finally got the message  ;) Its not that i dont find him ridiculously attractive or his hip-hop speak when addressing me amusing, my polite refusals were more to do with the fact that he is just not boyfriend material…see above and be prepared Edinburgh he’s coming…for your women! bettys famous lemon vodka

Never been to Poland in my life then over the last month, thanks to DJ Ros, i’ve been twice, not that i really remember much of the last trip. Sunny Sopot the second time round was lost in a haze of boarders and hooch. Not a vodka drinker but a drinker all the same i simply carried on knocking back the little shots of Bettys homemade lemon vodka at our pre-gig party, its bitter sweetness enough to mask just how potent these babies actually were….the last thing i remember was smoking on the balcony a few hours before the gig, then im face down in my hotel room with the sun blazing through my shutters and wondering if the building across the street looked that way yesterday…

vampires, homebrew & expensive condoms

TM10 Base DirtyPhonics

Twas my first time in Romania last weekend alongside Kabuki for the TM10 Base Festival in Timisoara, met some great people, extremely kind and a lot of fun thanks to all that got us over there for the show :)

Now Im not trying to be ignorant at all (i was made to choose between history & geography in high school and saw myself as a historian rather than a traveller back then) but until looking in the back of the inflight magazine on my way to Romania i actually had no idea where i was going. In fact to sound completely ignorant the most i knew about this distance and quite romantic sounding land of Romania was that Dracula had once lived there…if you believe all you read or see in Hollywood epics you’ll also find the grounds of Highgate, Hampstead and Whitby quite hallowed however here i was en route to Transylvania…ok ok i know stupid it was Timisoara and i knew this shallow teenage vampire fantasy of mine was based on tired media steroetypes and so i was on my best behaviour on leaving the airplane and tried my very best not see Dracula references EVERYWHERE…..

testing, testing @ parklife

The (locally controversial) Manchester festival was much fun this weekend, i was residing for most of Saturday behind the Ape tent soaking up the sun, hanging with Chunky n crew and trying out Ustreams Iphone app that allows you to broadcast live on the interweb to your Ustream Channel from your IPhone . Now it kind of worked and it kind of didn’t for a number of reasons, one major flaw 02‘s Iphone network being quite shabby on the day (quelle surpirse!) another being my newbie set up of the app and my channel on the site itself.  Also the ever flowing stream of fizzy booze didnt help but i did get few things on video, however alot of stuff i recorded using the ustream app and saved went missing….not a good look and i should of just recorded via IPhone cam…lesson learned anyways here for your viewing pleasure is a little sample of the salvaged footage from a day in the life at the park!

Levant lift

Last Saturday i was in London via Reading performing with The Engine-Earz at the Queen Elizabeth Hall as part of the amazing Raj:Reload. The gig absolutely smashed it with the seated venue turning into what can only be called the Queen Elizabeth Dance Hall once E=E was on stage, lol, alot of fun had by all in attendance on the Southbank for some truely inspiring performances. The party carried on until the wee hours of the morning and the lovely Levant/sequester captured some classic moments from backstage and beyond, simply a dope weekend.

A Pumpkins for life, not just Halloween.

Pumpkin Festival

Thats right you carvers of wasted flesh, if a Pumpkin was a puppy would you have gutted it so carelessly for one night of visual pleasure and then be throwing it on the bonfire later? I think not therefore behold the wondrous vegetable that is the mighty Pumpkin/Squash and fall in love with its many guises…. (more…)
