Theres not much to say but play this one loud. Shouts to Headliner for the heads up its huge!
So i like to make mixes, not club mixes i dont consider myself a club DJ, just selections of good tunes old/new, accoustic/electronic etc wrapped around themes. If you ever checked out Frontroom Radio you’ll see what i mean however i slowly stopped making that mostly because the sound of my own voice irked me somewhat but without a little explanation the mixes seemed quite jumbled. Anyways so i still wanna make mixes with a varied selection of tunes but i dont wanna bore anyone either (im in a paranoid phase artistically right now) so i came up with the 20/20 idea. 20 songs in 20 minutes that will hopefully have you digging out some old records or hunting for something new. I want to see if DJing like Tim Westwood with songs that are better than just there chorus can actually work…so here goes the first session, a reclamation of songs that speak love.
Ok im not trying to brain wash you or anything this song actually fits in nicely with the last post getting you in the mood for next weeks Urban Nerd vs Bigger than Barry warehouse party. Its a new track from Jayou who is part of next weeks bass heavy Carnival Warm Up line up, if you like you can catch down Hewitt St next Saturday night…ooo errr missus! lol
Listening back to Mistajams show from his new Saturday night slot on Radio 1 & 1Xtra, played Dirty Cash what more do you wanna know? Check it out if you weren’t bopping to it already over the weekend. Always bringing you the best from hip-hop, r&b, drum and bass, dancehall and electronica, plus this past weekend i made my first appearance…tee hee ;P
Last Sunday, still down in London, Vibe bar was the place to be on Brick Lane…well it was if you were making an appearance in Nerm & D-Codes video for their hardcore track Fray longside the marvelously named Orfice Vulgatron. (more…)
Mobos was this past week and predictable as ever, loved the location of Glasgow SECC (happy Noisia memories) i mean you can’t get more out of London than that and it was nice to see so many UK acts get awards but really thats what its all about innit, Music Of British/Black Origin…i always get confused since they scratched Drum n Bass! (more…)
How long does it take me to make a video nowadays? Cultronica happened way back in December 08, the month where my feet never touched the ground. It was a 2 day festival in a quiet little town called Braganca featuring artists from all over Portugal. I had a mad fun that weekend, even if i was the only female act, it was freezing cold and i didn’t speak any Portuguese, ha ha the 1 euro shots and amazing talent made up for it all! Big massive respect to Luis for the invite, DJ Oder for the dubplates and all the rest of the fellas that looked after me so well, hope you enjoy what i did in this little film
