Where do i begin? Its been nearly a month since i last checked in and theres so much to post, i guess the only way is to work backwards. So im in Berlin, i’ve been here for about 5 weeks gigging around Germany. Ulm, Wurzburg, Braunschweig, Berlin every gig has been immense, have to give thanks to all that got me to their home towns and looked after me so well Monday night just gone i DJ’d at Stereo 54 here in Berlin it was scary as hell but if i remember correctly the dance floor was moving, busy plus the awesome bar staff kept me well liquored up afterwards all gratis, so i guess i did ok! Big Shouts to Thomas & Tom for letting me spin some of my favourite tunes was very fun indeed once i got over my nerves and got used to using vinyl (serato style) again, thanks to Oscar for the helping hand! Thought i’d say thank you as well to everyone who came down by letting off this little mix that i did for FrontRoom radio early this year, my chats a bit dated, dont mind the ‘exclusive’ talk the music is still all good
Sesame Street had the right idea teaching with music its fun much like this video which is most helpful as it teaches you German. Handy when like me your living in Berlin for a month…Its also highly appropriate as i’ve been the last one one on the dance floor at a few nights this week, slurring loudly ‘nah man, i dont want to go i havent finished dancing’! SHouts to JeSuS for the link, enjoy
Just seen the video from the last time the Riot Jazz boys and i played together in Manchester….mind out of the gutter people im talking music! Made by the fabulous Dr Treehorn and starring the raving masses that always make Riot Jazz such a special night. Shouts as always to Axel & Tom, True Tiger, Chunky, Strategy, Rich Reason (playing the trumpet very well at the end) and of course Misell my bell. Do ya self a favor if your new in town, get to know Riot Jazz, an ill see ya down the front when im back!

The hallowed online gossip mailout has me in tucks today. Ill say no more as unfortunately i know peeps who know these peeps, not alot to say though once you’ve read the story and the taglines under all 9 pictures….
Ok so i was aware that my friend Gina was amazing at designing and making beautiful unique and stylish clothes but until my birthday weekend in Vienna i had only been able to appreciate that talent whilst coveting the garms from afar on her website and waiting endlessly for the sun to come out so i can wear my Gina Drewes blanket hoody (as above but mines grey and pink!). The best birthday present then to be up close and personal in her atelier (situated in the back of Lila pix boutique) jacking wi fi and sleeping on her couch whilst spend a whole weekend dressed up in her fabulous creations from the new range Bird of Paradise, all of which i want when there out later this year (dam you Gina only making one of everything so far!). Work It absolutely smashed it last summer when it journeyed up the M1 from Visions Videos in London to The Deaf Institute in Manchester for some retro 90′s partying. Perfect timing then that the girls and crew are back in town a week after my birthday as it means i can hijack the event as a belated birthday party in my hometown! Will be doing a quick DJ set of my favourite tracks from the decade i lost my virginity in…so come down preferably in harem pants and bandage dresses for Part 2 of Work It – Manchester
Sat at christmas dinner last night my primary school friends husband informed me about Joaquin Phoenix and his apparent bout of craziness last year when he announced his retirement from acting to pursue a rapping career. Have i really been that disconnected for a whole 12 months that i couldn’t have heard that the former Leaf Phoenix (did we ever get a reason why he changed his name?) had gone a little bit loco? (more…)
As i embark on another club and music filled weekend my mind gleefully flits back to last Saturday night at The Warehouse Project where in room 2 presented by Hoya Hoya i had one of the best nights out in Manchester i’ve had in years! (Thank you fellas ) (more…)
Yeah who would have thought it but it seems like every time im not in Manchester someone or something awesome is there…. (more…)
Well i wasn’t gonna go as i was supposed to be gigging else where but when this got canceled and the calls started coming in from friends in Manc for the event, it didn’t take to long to convince me to get my arse down to the first WHP of the year in conjunction with Hospitality... (more…)
In London one of my favourite nights for some dam good drum n bass, friendly faces and some funny stories has to be Swerve. I haven’t been in yonks and tonight im missing the final knees up for this legend of a club night at The End. Soooo wanted to be there by the far end of the bar with the usual suspects, getting my change on little trays and supping champagne, doing shots with friends reminiscing about all the fun we had in the backroom under red lights, whilst bouncing to some serious soulful drum and bass sounds. (more…)
Erm what did i say about not going out yesterday….yeah like that was gonna happen with Sheffield calling our names…or the gentle persuasion of the Manchester MC’s calling us to get on the Snakes Pass and represent! (more…)
