The last time my Dad took me to a concert i was about 6, we went to see Huey Lewis and the News at the M/cr Apollo. We were 7 rows from the front and i got took to the front by security and guitar solo serenaded by Chris Hayes , swoon. In fact wait that wasn’t the last time i just remembered he took me to see Extreme at the Gmex on their Pornograffiti tour when i was 8 or 9, no serenades but Mr Bettencourt i know you were playin just for me! ‘More than Words’ remember that track? PGL banger back in the day if you dont know, your not old enough. Anyways I digress. Last night me and Da were back out at the Apollo for Thin Lizzy, the reunion tour. (more…)

Been loving BBC2′s series investigating what makes the perfect rock n roll band, managed to catch the Drummers episode last night was truely epic (Ginger Baker lol) and my favourite so far. Obviously they talk alot about John Bonham (he’s the drummers drummer innit) and so shows the Led Zeppelin concert at the O2 where his son played, ah i didn’t have a ticket but was outside trying to hear something, we didn’t lol. Oh and im now very jealous of anyone that got to see Motely Crue live…..dam who flys a drum kit out into the audience nowadays? Whole series so far is up on Iplayer, which is my new best friend….sad i know!
If you know me you know i love music, old new what ever i love listening, creating, talking and watching it all happen as long as its good and especially if its something i haven’t heard before. This week a world of new musical talent is literally on my doorstep… (more…)

I seriously fell in love with this band, they have the cuddliest drummer and their lead singer ripped the sleeves of my t-shirt with his teeth…what more could you want from your dressing room neighbours? (more…)
These pleasant looking chaps were on before us at Summer Sonic in Tokyo & Osaka and rocked the fook out in tru metal form….i mean just check the press pick, beards, dreads and tats. The Qemists (me included) looked like Aloha From Hell in comparison! Blondie aka Ivan the lead singer is a sweetheart, even though his facial tattoo will have you believe he’s a murderer…he also dropped the scariest chat up line i’ve ever heard… (more…)

Was a busy festival for me, unfortunately the partying and singing took its toll and by my final gig Saturday night for the Engine-earz my voice was all pooped out. Didnt make it down to their awesome set at Bassline Circus but i did of course represent the previous day in singing Kali-Yuga in their live set at the BBC Introducing Stage.
Twas mad fun indeed, didnt manage to get any of the live stuff on film as all my batteries died quite early on… Spent most of the weekend with muddy feet and a smiley face, literally bumping into loads of people i knew and having a good ol knees up on various stages and in massive crowds! (more…)
So i don’t know how many of you know who Enter Shikari are but we’re on the support slot of their tour round Europe. Last night was our 2nd gig with them, the crowd was amazing and already i am very much enjoying being backstage surrounded by half naked 23 year olds, as i keep twittering!
What is it with 19-21 year olds chatting me up recently? Do i look that young? Ok maybe in this picture i do, Im not complaining just asking seriously what is up with that? (more…)
