I love me an action movie, Jason Statham & Ben Foster so hallelujah that today The Mechanic is released! Funnily i havent seen it yet (im usually two steps ahead me hearties) however it has to be awesome regardless of the run of the mill trailer (above). Statham has paid his dues in this genre not one film has disappointed action wise though script, storyline and casting have never all hit as hard as he can however The Mechanic (terrible name) has to be his first all rounder, right? Ben Foster who is not known for appearing in shitty movies and Donald Sutherland who despite Virus is still a bad man make up a pretty strong cast! Looking forward to my first cinema visit in a while to check this out over the weekend…anyone with me, i have no shame going alone!
Stringer Bell, Jon Luther, Driis, Senor Elba what ever you wanna be called im ready and waiting for ya! Been missing this guy like cook food since Luther finished on BBC earlier this year, was such a dope drama series gutted to have to wait over a year for part 2! Anyways in the meantime i can get my Idris Elba fix with this weeks (USA) release of the long awaited Takers. Starring far to many men that would get it to mention them all and Chris Brown im sure you’ll be hearing about this one soon enough, set for UK release on 1st Oct, its gonna be the big date movie for Autumn (action for the guys and guys for the gurls, lol) that is if it doesn’t bomb in the states first, (fingers crossed) the release date has been put back enough times! Fancy being on the official movie mixtape? Time is ticking as the final day to submit entries is this week, watch the ever so slightly awkward vid after the jump for more info (more…)
Stoner movies are the greatest 2nd is French, then Swedish (i just watched GWDT, insanely brilliant) and then action movies which encompass all types of fighting and shoot em ups, explosions and blood spouting galore! However concerning my numero uno film category i have share with you a scene thats has been making me piss myself laughing daily since re watching the movie Grandmas Boy last week. Oh the bliss of loosing your v’s mixed up with the medical responsibilities of sex, Word Up!
It was a year ago next week that i was at Claridges in London for the Fred Claus press junket. I never seen the movie, it looked terrible Vince Vaughn starred as the trouble some brother of one my favourite actors Paul Giamatti who played Santa Claus (sooooooo beneath him). It also had Ludacris as a elf and the kid from Idlewild in it, hence 1X’s interest. Anyways I didn’t pull the short straw of interviewing Vince (who incidentally got paid £20 million for the role), so i couldn’t tell you how genuine he is. Im thinking though its not that genuine thanks to his return in another crappy movie this season, Four Christmas’s. Starring Reese (cheesy chick flick don) Witherspoon, Jon Voight and some others it tells the tale of a couple spending christmas with their divorced parents…Hollywood reality YAWN, wonder how much they all got paid for this monstrosity. Go see at your peril
