London got Blitzkrieg’d this week by my brother from another mother Kabuki promoting his excellent new album Warrior Soul. He passed through DNB TV, Kool FM, Swerve and the hallowed halls of 1Xtra click the links to listen back to him and Bailey chew the fat over the airwaves, twas a very nice show indeed. Caught Hoodman last night at Moho Live why isnt this fella on my tv?? Truely awesome talent who i do not see or hear enough of…remember first hearing in this tune from UK Team and Konny Kon (Broke n £nglish ) when i had my show on 1Xtra. The manny accent and free flowing story line made me home sick as hell living in London. Even though it wasn’t packed in Moho last night (shame on to many people for a number of different reasons) the vibe was live and everyone who grabbed the mic smashed it big shouts to Siege, Hoodman, Mr Fox & Freestyle for a proper hip-hop evening

Finally got a chance to check out two of the tracks from Donaeos‘ live Maida Vale session for Ras Kwame and im blown away. Seriously some people ring truer than ever when backed by live band, especially one as tight as this! Soooo worth a listen if your a Riot Music fan or live music lover im now off to see if i can find the full session online at the BBC i have a feeling though i’ve missed it, boo

Vaughn loves that christmas cash
It was a year ago next week that i was at Claridges in London for the Fred Claus press junket. I never seen the movie, it looked terrible Vince Vaughn starred as the trouble some brother of one my favourite actors Paul Giamatti who played Santa Claus (sooooooo beneath him). It also had Ludacris as a elf and the kid from Idlewild in it, hence 1X’s interest. Anyways I didn’t pull the short straw of interviewing Vince (who incidentally got paid £20 million for the role), so i couldn’t tell you how genuine he is. Im thinking though its not that genuine thanks to his return in another crappy movie this season, Four Christmas’s. Starring Reese (cheesy chick flick don) Witherspoon, Jon Voight and some others it tells the tale of a couple spending christmas with their divorced parents…Hollywood reality YAWN, wonder how much they all got paid for this monstrosity. Go see at your peril

Last show yesterday on 1xtra it was a hard one! Feels weird after fours years knowing i wont have anything to do with that place for a while….thanks to anyone who texed in….got some really lovely messages…will be posting more in depth later…but have to go to the bloody passport office….LONG!

Today on the show Mz Bratz from the Aftershock camp chose So Solids debut album They Dont Know as a classic. Im not saying anything…i actually agree with her, vaguely…i mean you cant deny they smacked the arse out of the charts from 2001-2002 with formerly underground tracks or the fact that some of them are still making money today in successfull careers (although not all in music) and their was no denying the 2 finger skank when playing Haterz & Oh No during the show…Ms Dynamite is ill on the Envy!!
However the skanking soon stopped when a tex came in saying i should spear head a So Solid Revival….REALLY!!! LIKE SERIOUSLY…im the person you thought of for that job?!!! 21 SECS 2008……Please god no….i mean, no offence to any of them its just…all that bling bling lyrical culture was so monotonous and in a way killed the scene….raves getting shut down, violence, people getting banged up doing nonsense cause they think they have to have an Audi TT parked in front of their council gaff….in short what im saying is maybe i shouldn’t spear head the return of So Solid but erm thanks for thinking of me…now back to the 2 finger skank…
