When i left London & 1Xtra in 2008 i stopped tuning into the station that had been my home for 4 years cause by then i was totally hooked on 6music. Every weekday morning with George Lamb was the best, so funny and always with an amazing selection of tracks old and new, it was on his show that i heard Major Lazer – Pon the Floor for the first time, in fact i believe the track was playlisted on the station long before the obvious followed. I still cant believe George is gone, love whats her face as well, but his show was my second favourite of all time after Russell Brands old BBC2 programme (i still have some podcasts, which i cherish dearly!) my third being Theme Hour with Bob Dylan (which is also no more……), but wait the BBC now wants to take 6music from me altogether?! In the words of Hitler – NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN NEIN! What the hell is going on with everyone at the moment? First Plastic People & now this, i dont understand there are so many other BBC services that could be cut instead, as Mr Paxman quite clearly points out in this very amusing video… (more…)

Its the Oscars countdown!!! MY FAVOURITE AWARDS CEREMONY ever, oh the glitz, the glam, the red carpet to end all red carpets, the fashion disasters, the ridiculous speeches (which this year the producer has threatened to cut extremely, and broadcast backstage via the web, ugh party pooper!). Standard procedure next sunday night will be firing up the Ichat with @thegiftd in NYC, discussing the trans-atlantic syncing issues with the E! channel, making sure im locked onto a working TV stream for the main show (the BBC no longer broadcasting the awards is a travesty and frankly not what i pay my license fee for), loading up the Oscar twitter feed (via E! or Oscar.com) and sitting back fingers poised to bitch my way through the ceremony, PERFECT! Preparation is simple watch all movies up for awards, including the shorts/animations and docs….routing for Rabbit A La Berlin for the latter this year obviously. I began familiarizing myself last night and watched Nine ( Original Song, Art Direction, Costume, Supporting Actress) & The Messenger which sees Woody Harrelson nominated for Best supporting Actor, no nomination though for my long time obsession and much deserved Ben Foster… (more…)

Oh wow what an amazing birthday week, all shimmery and shining like the disco ball i fell asleep watching every night. Even got my appetite back ! To many thank yous seriously and i don’t wanna gush its not in my newly matured character (and i’ve aleady done it to their face xx). Friends new and old, bouncers, cafe owners, ravers, builders and the girls standing in line for the bathroom THANK YOU, i love ya truely madly deeply

dictionary resolution
i have been subscribing to a few pointless things via email over the past few years one of them being Dictionary.com which mails you a word a day from their online atelier . I recall at some point making an effort to use said word of the day thinking this might make me more intelligent…but that habit soon came and went like a virgin on prom night. (more…)
a reclamation of space
It was getting silly, my inbox on the book of fass, every day over 100 messages mostly invites to events id never make constantly needing deletion. Real messages from friends and people who wanted to network were getting lost in the daily barrage. In between a ridiculous amount of gigging last year my precious time was mostly taken up sifting through junktastic mailboxes instead of being creative (this is what i have decided). Sat at christmas dinner last night my primary school friends husband informed me about Joaquin Phoenix and his apparent bout of craziness last year when he announced his retirement from acting to pursue a rapping career.
