Catching up on Jezebel last night the very well written ‘How to Make A Rape Joke’ included an appropriate example from the rather funny Ever Mainard , who then led me on a very enjoyable youtube sidebar trail of female comedians old and new, thought id share the ones that tickled me most (more…)
Blog world today is alight with irrelevant news about Tom Waits & Heath Ledger. I totally would either one , but thats not what this blog is about. Lots of people posting the above video mentioning the fact that Toms 29yr old self may have been the inspiration from the late great Heath Ledgers Joker. I can see it kind of but really im just using it as an excuse to post my favourite song by Mr Waits… (more…)
Set to drop in August probably the most anticipated DnB album this year from MC veteran DRS ’I Dont Usually Like Mcs. But’ landed in my inbox last week and honestly i havent listened to much else since. So many amazing tracks, artists and producers on such an accomplished debut, im humbled to know him and to be a part of it. Currently the busiest MC from Manchester im guessin his bookings are gonna be out of control once this hits the shops! Avaliable now the singles Count to Ten ft Enei and Holding On ft Riya & Jehst are an epic slice of whats to come. Big up to all involved, raising a glass to your success xx
Yeah its vacuous but i cant help but comment on the real life Twilight drama that has kicked off this week, mostly because its popping up on feeds all over the place. Bella cheated on the vampire with a married man, a director surprisingly….Now cheating is bad in any circumstance but forgive me for thinking its a little more serious if your married and have two kids, so why am i only hearing how she fucked up, Holy Moly says exactly what ive been thinking but way more wittier…
Forgive us for moralising, and all that, but doesn’t it seem like Rupert has gotten off very bloody lightly? K-Stew’s the one getting called a bitch and a slut on Twitter, and possibly having to write a letter of apology to Liberty Ross, because apparently it is a far worse crime to be 22, a bit daft, and cheat on your boyfriend than to be, you know, a married father of two, screwing a girl practically half your age?
This has to be the funniest thing ive heard so far in the lead up to the games, Oddbins are launching a ‘marketing counter strike’ aimed at the draconian and quite absurdly harsh Olympic Branding laws which has stopped businesses in the capital and across the nation that aren’t official sponsors profiting from the games, banning the use of words such as “gold”, “Games”, “2012″, “summer” and “London” in any of their promotions. Ridiculous right? So Oddbins is offering a massive 30% discount to any of their customers who kit themselves out in branding rivals to the LOCOG main sponsors. Turn up in a pair of Nike trainers, with a set of Vauxhall car keys, an RBS MasterCard, an iPhone, a bill from British Gas and a receipt for a Pepsi bought at KFC and you will receive 30 per cent off your purchase! Jeff Leach stopped asking me out for dinner about a year ago, we first met in 2007, im so glad he finally got the message ;) Its not that i dont find him ridiculously attractive or his hip-hop speak when addressing me amusing, my polite refusals were more to do with the fact that he is just not boyfriend material…see above and be prepared Edinburgh he’s coming…for your women! (more…)
Dont Panic has put the heightened security presence in the Olympic capitial to the test, whilst at the same time highlighting the ever present discrimination against mental illnesses in the work place. Their mission, to get straight jackets on four statues of great Britons, who each suffered from mental health without getting arrested. Genius idea, also didnt know Florence Nightingale was Bipolar, go figure!
2 days before the coporate spectacle, and hey presto two new Banksys (source) nice But where are they exactly? Graffitti hunt ahoy please can anyone let me know if you find them

Coming up on the radar is Pohoda festival which will be a first time for me, very honored to be playing there alongside DJ Die right after Public Enemy! Also looking forward to catching up with the Drumatique crew, roll on the 7th of July
So i like to make mixes, not club mixes i dont consider myself a club DJ, just selections of good tunes old/new, accoustic/electronic etc wrapped around themes. If you ever checked out Frontroom Radio you’ll see what i mean however i slowly stopped making that mostly because the sound of my own voice irked me somewhat but without a little explanation the mixes seemed quite jumbled. Anyways so i still wanna make mixes with a varied selection of tunes but i dont wanna bore anyone either (im in a paranoid phase artistically right now) so i came up with the 20/20 idea. 20 songs in 20 minutes that will hopefully have you digging out some old records or hunting for something new. I want to see if DJing like Tim Westwood with songs that are better than just there chorus can actually work…so here goes the first session, a reclamation of songs that speak love.
Evidence opening scene of this awesome trailer from the memorable momentous marathon that was the New Zealand Easter Weekender 2012. Ah happy happy days, big up to Dualray on the production, oh the fun you must of had putting that together (more…)
