Whilst im chuckling at all the facebook status’s poking fun at todays international celebration of women  the statistics in this video as well as Daniel Craig in drag are far from amusing and should remind us all just how far there is to go until men and women are truely equal in this day and age… (more…)

i dont like this song but…

…the story behind this re-issue of this 1987 release is to good enough to warrant a post. On this day in Manchester 1990 The Stone Roses unhappy with the re-issue of their 87 release Sally Cinnamon trashed their former record labels office Revlover FM and threw paint over their cars! LMFAO obviously being Manc they werent very incognito about it and so were subsquently arrested and charged, so worth the story i reckon, can more artists be like this nowadays please?

will you still love me tomorrow?

More good music found on my history trail on this lazy sunday, Dirty Dancing fans will no doubt know this track from The Shirelles, who were the first girl group to get to number one in the US on this day in 1961 way before Sasha Fierce and her semi related minions! I only found out today that not only did the Shirelles launch the careers of some of my favourite songwriters Carole King, Burt Bacharach and Ashford & Simpson but they were among the first women to write their own music. Again Beyonce FALL BACK! LOL ;)

Video Note

Loving how inappropriate this song is for the younger audience members in the video above, maybe thats the reason for the more up beat backing track on the live version?

the last time live…

Im all historical this afternoon and so revelling in letting you know that on this day in 1969 the Beatles played their infamous rooftop gig in Saville Row London. It was the last time they played live, which some people were probably quite happy about considering their dominance through the worldwide charts during the 60′s. However i think it would have been awesome to be walking along the swinging streets of 60′s London and stumble into this impromptu din over flowing from the roof top of the Apple building, totally groovy baby. I wonder what todays equivalent would be….maybe Jay Z doing a Madison Square Garden gig and then retiring from the stage as Hova….oh wait he already did that and then performed live at Glastonbury….. gutless grand gestures do my head in!

just stop please stop!

Drunk dialling, texing, facebooking, whatever…stop it now!

the art of action

I love me an action movie, Jason Statham & Ben Foster so hallelujah that today The Mechanic is released! Funnily i havent seen it yet (im usually two steps ahead me hearties) however it has to be awesome regardless of the run of the mill trailer (above). Statham has paid his dues in this genre not one film has disappointed action wise though script, storyline and casting have never all hit as hard as he can however The Mechanic (terrible name) has to be his first all rounder, right? Ben Foster who is not known for appearing in shitty movies and Donald Sutherland who despite Virus is still a bad man make up a pretty strong cast! Looking forward to my first cinema visit in a while to check this out over the weekend…anyone with me, i have no shame going alone!

cut to make you yearn

jpg&madge

Jean Paul Gaultier my acronym name twin (par the p) & Madonna back in the days when she wasnt a butch granny and fashion was sexy & shocking, not skeletal & saturated! Yes more French fancies popping up on my radar, this time VS mag is biting my Gaelic inspirations!?! Sacre bleu (what ever that means) can it be i’ve started a French trend….or is it the fact now im feeling all red white and vertical blue i cant help but notice all the French things surrounding me? Click the pic to watch this classic catwalk moment, ladies you will want some or at least one swear!

audi trainers by nash money!

app_full_proxy.php

OMG like i dont want an Audi enough,  they’ve only gone and got a leg end in street wear customs to create an exclusive range of these god like kicks. The A1 trainers could probably be the sickest black high tops i’ve ever seen. Red cross stitching, black patent swoosh, metal lace loops with matching tongue detail and the white flat laces like the gloss on a perfect veneer…i am actually wet. Btch Pls will definitely Rob U 4 these, dont let her catch that competition winner slipping…. ;) Watch Nash Money in action on another dope pair of sneakers for the mechanical masters at Audi right here.
