black & white obsession
Lately i cant help but take photos with the black and white function on my camera, even in the most modern of settings i love the way it turns any scene into a 40′s snap shot, timeless and quite genius. (my snaps are in the Flickr photos top left in sidebar)Watching The Dreamers last night i made the link between the recent hue of my snaps and my Brassai obsession which began about this time last year. Wishing i lived when he did in Paris armed with a fierce set of post war suspenders and a camera. In that booth, that embrace, slipping into the misty shadows at the end of the street, red wine, smoke, velvet, metal, white tiles and cobble stones…

who are you?
One thing that always baffles me about gigs i do is the amount of pictures/videos people look like their taking. What happens to them afterwards, i always wonder, as only a handful trickle down through facebook and the like. In particular my past tour in South America had the most amount of people in all 5 gigs waving cameras in the air (or standing still whilst achieve perfect framing) whilst i was performing…my questions is where did all the evidence go? In particular i request the help of my Santiago homies to find the Photographer (or videographer as he is in the above shot) with the red jumper and black A’s hat in the centre of the above picture, taken by Manuel de Fierro at Caja De Ritmos.. he was taking pictures of me at the sound check and then through out the night, very curious as to what exactly he was doing…. Any way easier to find and with awesome results i must link up the rest of the galleries from the people who took the time to upload their shots of all the action, Fede Welbe @ +160, Black Magic Sounds Venezuela and of course all the Sub Grave Sao Paulo crew

Somewhere in my frontroom is a monster, its present location is currently unknown. This unsettles me somewhat, having met if face to face only once i cannot be to sure of its exact type or species but one thing is for sure, its big and i dont like it. Sitting here on the couch half asleep i swear its somewhere watching me with its beady little eyes *skin crawling*. Fight the fear i must, be at one with the beast and so a dedication, to take this creepy crawly feeling away, ode to the eight legged invader.

Its mid week Wednesday, so why not champion weird and wonderful, and think positivly! Lets do it all at the same time by watching the master of surrealism Salvidor Dali from the 50′s TV show ‘Whats my line?’ I swear this cracks me up everytime, you see the panel have to ask yes or no questions to decipher what his profession is, however Dali can answer yes to nearly all of them, ‘is there anything this man doesn’t do’?! So inspired by Mr Dali and some PMA from yesterdays social networking im going about the day with a big YES. Just dont ask to borrow any money ya spoil sports

jesus & harry potter at mosside carnival
A week back today i was at Alexandra Park in Manchester enjoying the Mosside Carnival, the first time i’d been there in over 12 years! Shocked as i was to see Jesus and Harry Potter there i was even more surprised by the beautiful weather and rather pleasent crowd of all ages, creeds and cultures peacefully enjoying the some what community lead entertainment and tasty but pricey food. Trying to understand the logic behind the latest crop circle whilst at my sisters with N-Dubz playing in the background (on the radio) equalled a very confused Jenna. Last weekend was at the Hare & Hound in Birmingham for the Utah Jazz album party longside the man himself, Nu:Tone and STanza. Massive thanks to Ric for inviting me down there was a very fun night (apart from the weird guy who replied to me answering his question about Burger Bar shouts with ‘thats a great answer for a journalist’…ok then mate). Ok im not taking sides in the inane twitter/facebook beef (lmao) going on between Rusko & Deadmau culminating in this quite graphic picture. I not really interested in who said what or why or whose better etc im just pissing myself laughing at this poster! The artistry of producer beef is somewhat classier to that of mc beef im thinking…im also thinking that this post is sounding like the beef section of a chinese take away menu. Its also highly amusing how not being able to smoke weed backstage has escalated into a fully public diss match not to far form the release of someones new album….ill say no more and watch from the sidelines
