Backstage @ Warehouse Project 25.09.09

Well i wasn’t gonna go as i was supposed to be gigging else where but when this got canceled and the calls started coming in from friends in Manc for the event, it didn’t take to long to convince me to get my arse down to the first WHP of the year in conjunction with Hospitality...Ended up heading down with Zed who was playing in room 2 – the main room was rammed out when we got in there Wrec was on stage representing for the massive line up Goldie, DJ Marky..

However as usual i only caught one set (Zed’s, smacked it) as i was busy chatting away to everybody backstage, it was a full house indeed…

Was fun catching up with friends, check out my flickr for more shots, which wasn’t all i got backstage on Friday…. I finally got the chance to find out what really went down between Strategy from Broke n £nglish & The Furious Fives Melle Mel when he interviewed them for MUTV last week….

SWITCH!!!

The past 2 weeks Hip Hop legends The Furious Five have graced our lovely shores. I was gutted to have missed them in my home town but i know they’ve been packing them in up and down the country with a big show featuring some absolutely classic beats that are amongst the most sampled in hip-hop. Maximum respect is definately due to the whole crew of hip-hop pioneers who touched down in the UK for their contribution to a genre of music so close to my heart. Unfortunately wicked rumors did have it that last week whilst in Manchester the respect they so rightly deserve wasn’t being given back and as i tweeted a case of a rather large ego allegedly caused quite a stir down at the intimate Furious Five gig at private members bar Circle. Chinese whispers – Strategy from Broke n £nglish in a fist fight with Melle Mel lmao, not true but it did get pretty close…heres how it happened.
