Kanye is not wearing socks.

Sorry to upset you and the rest of the Kanye knob jockeys but im sooooo over this dude right now…The latest 808 & Heartbreaks is an addition to his plagiarism of non-american art/music culture from the past 30 years and even worse eveyone is lapping it up AGAIN like he was the second coming. ‘Art rocks’, ‘contemporary is cool’, ‘alternative rap is the real hip-hop’…NO HIP-HOP WAS ALWAYS THIS COOL, MAIN STREAM JUST FORCE FED YOU FIFTY CENT EFFIGIES UNTIL YOU FORGOT HOW MUCH OF AN ART MOVEMENT HIP-HOP ALREADY WAS!!!

Did i miss the Youtube video where Daft Punk congratulated Kanye on making their song his own XFactor judge stylee (signing off on a sample is not approval its business as is the video appearance, before anyone says anything) Have you seen Justice and Mr West wandering through the forest at Cité de la Musique idlly chatting about synths after bumping into each other at the Gainsbourg exhibition? Please post right here if im missin out on these cultural exchanges making my next statement null and void. Kanye is biting other peoples art and rapping it up in his music like he was the hip-hop son of god! His initial ego and innocent originality were the main reasons i loved him, he was a dope producer/frustrated MC exploding on tracks with a passion in his delivery and truth in his lyrics. Of course he’s still speaking the truth and the rhymes/lyrics are still his ‘own’ its just everything else around it, his ego has elevated to such an extent he thinks living in a museum, drawing peoples attention to stuff thats been around for ages and making a whole album with auto-tune are epic artsy statements and again the world is lapping it up!! Im not denying the track is catchy or that the videos aren’t great or that its not a positive direction for mainstream rap music, blah blah blah. Its just nothing new if you’ve been studying art & design or aware of alternative music for the past 40 years.

More evidence of this over appreciation is his blog which nowdays consists solely of expensive gadgets or out of date art and half dressed chicks, Yawn…Oh yes your soo forward thinking and open minded Mr West you’ve took hip hops tired symbols like Versace & Super Head and turned them into Kaws Original Fake & trust fund airbrushed K waifs! Oh and the fact that your not wearing any socks with your canvas deck shoes in the new video Kanye is just wrong, sweaty, Essex and WRONG!

kayne’s new album is very good. its an experiment album, so comparing it to his other (whats the adjective im looking for…. oh yes…) EPIC albums doesnt make sense. the songs are the way he described “fun & experimental” so making more out of it is just jumping the anti-commercial band wagon…

same goes for his other songs like the daftpunk remix. erm, hello? hip-hop has been sampling the best and most creative songs out there to produce #1 hits. nwa, jayz, diddy, pac, dre etc. are no different.

as for being full of himself. kanye has some of the realist lyrics out there. the frustration he has is as legit as it gets. no overrated lil wayne, ti or eminem,50 etc. come even close.

everybody told him not to become the man he is today. he didnt have the looks, the flow, the class and he messed himself up in that car crash. u should know more than most what its like building up something on ur own, and pulling it through, even his role models tell u otherwise.

im not kanye fanatic, but to your post all i can say is “shine kanye, shine. bring out that electro shit, bring out that artsy shit, and keep pissing people off!”

@phen: Thank you for your comments and i agree my post did suggest jumping on the anti-commercial bandwagon. However may i clarify that wasnt at all the haterade train i was on. Its was more the ‘it was all there before he found it’ express service to ‘sampling has nothing to do with it as im talking about his artistic references-ville’.
Shine Kanye shine indeed but with your own brilliant light, i say…
    :)
